Youth Programme

OBJECTIVES-

  • Educate in, and advocate for Good Governance, Human Rights and Multiculturalism/ Citizenship among Fiji’s youth in target areas.
  • Promote Multiculturalism to all Fiji’s young people through extensive advocacy.
  • Help build and enhance youth networks in Fiji.

OUTPUT-

  • Youth activities focused on CCF’s youth programme objectives eg, special days etc.
  • Educating young people on Multiculturalism & Citizenship.
  • Support to Community Initiative Projects for young people in CCF’s 3 target areas.

Activities 2011:

-Youth Leaders Community Workshop- Ra, Naitasiri & Tailevu

1st workshop – Ra 06th-07th July

2nd workshop – Naitasiri 30th-31st August

-Urban Youth Citizenship Workshop

to be conducted in Ba, still in progress and dates to be confirmed

-Performing and Creative Arts Sponsorships

Currently sponsoring Cathedral Secondary School & Sila Central High School, St. John’s Cawaci

Theatre

Also the Youth Programme co-ordinates the CCF Theatre Group, newly formed and have also been out conducting their plays in the communities; its audiences are open to all from community elders, women, youths and children. Theatre group performs play’s that encourages interactive learning from the Actor’s to the Audience, also abit of Street Theatre to add creativity. This year promises a lot for the CCF Theatre Group; also it has 6 members all from dynamic backgrounds and diverse talents, young and energetic, full of inspiration and life.
