Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni has resigned from his position of Deputy Army Commander

“Although the reason for the resignation is not known, CCF would like to welcome the move and would urge other senior Military officers occupying civil postings to do the same. Teleni has shown a good example and he should invite other officers in similar positions to do the same either way.
CCF is on record for having proposed early this year to the Commander of the RFMF to resign as Interim Prime Minister and allow the Interim Civilian Government to function independently of the RFMF as a civilian non-military interim administration made up of personnel selected by a panel of selectors made up of main stream political parties with perhaps a representative of the Military.
The move by Commissioner Teleni represents good practice and reduces the possibility of conflict of interests.”
