NGO Coalition on Human Rights: ’50 years of Independence – Fiji through our Stories’ – Panel Discussion 2. The NGO Coalition on Human Rights held its second series of Panel Events for Fiji’s 50th Independence Anniversary called ’50 years of Independence – Fiji through our Stories’.The panelists in the first session included Sashi Kiran – CEO of the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises & Development (FRIEND), Retired Professor of Surgery Dr. Eddie McCaig, Ashwin Raj – Director Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission, and Maria Nailevu – Resource Compliance Officer at Social Empowerment and Education Programme (SEEP), and in the the second session Shamima Ali from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center was joined by Priscilla Singh – Workers Rights,Viva Tatawaqa – DIVA for Equality Fiji, and Nandi Vandana – Youth Activism. Louchrisha Hussain from the Citizens’ Constitutional moderated the event that was attended by team members of the CSOCHR, media and citizens who were invited to the open door event.
