Monitoring and Evaluation

THE Research Department has started a review of its monitoring and evaluation methodology prior to the beginning of new programmes in 2012.

Work has started in Tailevu and Naitasiri to measure the effectiveness of the CCF’s research methodology.

Researchers have designed new questionnaires to measure community knowledge of human rights, good governance and citizenship.

These questionnaires will form the basis for information gathering in the Ba Province next year when the CCF Education Team conducts human rights advocacy in the area.

CCF Researcher Netani Rika said the period October-December would be used in preparation for activities in the new year.

“The research conducted in Naitasiri, Ra and Tailevu  this year provided valuable information for the CCF and other organizations involved in human rights advocacy,” he said.

“But we have identified areas in which methodology can be improved so we’re piloting a revised questionnaire and testing information gathering systems to ensure the data we gather in Ba is beyond reproach.”

Once the pilot programme is completed, final questionnaires will be prepared and staff training will be conducted to familiarize field workers with the documents and information gathering procedures.
